Yate and Chipping Sodbury situated at the southern end of the Cotswold Escarpment – home to Prince Charles (some 15 miles Northeast). Yate & Chipping Sodbury were part of Gloucestershire until 1974 when they became part of the newly formed county of Avon. However the world keeps spinning and in 1996 Avon was abolished and the area became part of South Gloucestershire.

Yate a modern English town. A mixture of Industry, housing, shopping and amenities, all centered around the main shopping mall which has shops of all varieties with free parking. Adjacent Leisure Centre and local pubs with varied menus.

Chipping Sodbury is an old market town The town is centered around the High Street. Here you will find curiosity shops, antique shops, pubs, Thai, French, and an Indian restaurant housed in a Georgian House where once lived Edward Jenner – the first doctor to successfully vaccinate against smallpox.

The long running Mop Fair takes place in the medieval High Street twice a year. The spring Mop usually takes place over the last Friday and Saturday in March, and the Autumn Mop over the last Friday and Saturday in September.
